Assistive systems
VisuAct
Eye control, cursor interaction and assistive communication: a Java-based Android project for people with severe motor limitations.
Connection through gaze
VisuAct develops alternative input and communication options for people whose motor abilities are severely limited, including by conditions such as ALS. The aim is to help people select digital content and express themselves to others.
Technical foundation
The system is developed in Java for Android. Gaze control, cursor interaction and communication output are adapted to individually usable abilities. This presentation does not promise universal remote control of arbitrary computers.
Individual suitability
The project is in development. Calibration, suitable devices and individual assessment are required to evaluate usability. No general release, clinical effectiveness or suitability for a particular person is promised.
